"Sluseholmen" is a new aerea in Copenhagen inspired by Dutch building tradition. The idea for a canal district on Sluseholmen originated with the Dutch architect Sjoerd Soeters, who used his experiences from Java Island, a residential district built on an artificial island in Amsterdam. And the Dutch inspiration is obvious. Newly dug canals form the basic structure. The new canal district is built on eight artificial islands with a pattern of continuous blocks with sheltered courtyards.

The Liesenstraße Graveyard in Berlin used to be devided by the berlin Wall. Now when the Wall is long gone, the graveyard is definitely worth a visit. Small parts of both the outer and inner-wall are still there to be seen.
